What is DC Sketchfest?
DC Sketchfest is DC's only sketch comedy festival and features dozens of comedy troupes from the US and Canada for four nights each spring. DC Sketchfest is organized by the DC sketch comedy community and founded by Bad Medicine and Rails Comedy.
When is the 2027 festival?
Wednesday, March 31 through Saturday, April 3, 2027 — four nights of sketch comedy.
Where is it happening?
The 2027 venue hasn't been announced yet. It will be in Washington, DC, as every festival has been. Join the mailing list and we'll send it out as soon as it's signed.
How do I apply to perform?
Applications are open now — fill out the application form and pay the fee for the window you're applying in: $25 through November 1, $30 from November 1 to November 29, and $40 from November 30 to December 13. DC sales tax and a card processing fee are added on top, and you'll see the full total before you enter a card. Applications close December 13, and an application isn't complete until the fee is paid.
When will I hear back?
Every applicant is notified of their status in mid-January 2027, whether or not they're placed in the festival.
Where do I get tickets?
Tickets aren't on sale yet. Once the lineup is set, tickets for every show go on sale right here. Join the mailing list and we'll email you the moment they're up.
What is sketch comedy?
A sketch is a short, fully scripted comedy scene. Sketch comedy is the same thing you see on Saturday Night Live!
